Reflexology

Reflexology helps to activate the healing powers of the body. The feet and face contain reflex points that correspond to all the major organs, glands and body parts.

There is evidence that reflexology has been around for thousands of years, having been practised in the Far East, India and Egypt. In the early 20th Century it was being practised in the USA and then introduced to Europe and the UK in the 1960s.

Reflexology works by the practitioner using their thumbs to 'walk' across all reflex areas of the feet or by applying pressure to various points of the face.

Massage techniques will also be used to promote relaxation.

Benefits can include:

  • Reduce stress, anxiety and tension

  • Induce deep relaxation

  • Improve circulation

  • Help to eliminate waste

  • Promote a feeling of well-being

  • Improve sleep

  • Revitalise and rebalance

Some people also use it to help them cope with more specific health challenges.
