Innovation Festival 2025

This time last year, I was at Northumbrian Water's Innovation Festival 2025. They asked me to come along and provide seated acupressure treatments for 90 minutes over a lunchtime. The sessions were so popular, I had a queue of people wanting a treatment. So much so that I had to have my partner stand at the end of the queue and turn people away. 90 minutes just isn't long enough. The feedback given to Northumbrian Water by people attending the festival was that everyone lucky enough to get a treatment loved it, and those who were turned away were disappointed that I wasn't there longer.
This year, they asked me back again for #InnovationFestival2025 at Gosforth Racecourse. This time, they wanted me there for 3 days doing 3 hours each day. Rather than having people queue up, standing around for a long time, I created sign-up appointment sheets. People could come along and write their name in a time slot for any of the 3 days.
I was fully booked each day and even had a celebrity in my seat. A star of West End theatre who was at the festival as a speaker (thanks for promoting me on your socials James!). Most of the appointments for Wednesday and Thursday had gone by the end of Tuesday, so again, I had to turn people away who were wanting to book in.
The feedback I had from everyone was that they loved their 10 minute treatments and wish they could have had longer. The weather this year made a difference to me as well as the clients. Last year was cold and damp. This year was blazing sunshine all week - luckily I had some shade so I didn't burn or melt.
Hopefully, they'll have me back again next year.
Here's a few shots from the day. Click to make them bigger.
I even made it into the end of day summary video from the official press at the festival.
